Electricity bill-this time last year my payments were 45 pounds a month?
Question:in jan this year they went up to 70 a month and now they sday i have to pay 100 pounds a month-we have the usual electrical items running-tvs-games consoles washer dryer-i even use energy saving lightbulbs? does anyone know how i can get my payments down again or what will be the greatest energy user? the only thing new i have is an electric shower -we have cavity wall etc already

Yes.same thing happened to me. I was told to pay £80 per month but my last bill was for £200. God know how it was that much. I think I will have to start buying plastic and covering myself up with that instead! £200!! I cant get over it!!
the simple most cost effective way to reduce energy bills is to switch heating off and put a nice comfortable jumper on.and if your not using an appliance switch it off at the socket
That seems a bit steep,go to uswitch and change suppliers,they do it all for you,some companies have cut their fuel bills by 30% while some havent.
We livein Galicia, Spain, but we have an office in England which we rent out to 3 tenants. Last year we paid a standing order amount of £65.00 per month. We have just been advised that our monthly amount is being doubled but there is no increase in the amount of electricity being used. In Spain we are billed every 2 months and our average bill is 75€, which is about £40 - 45, it really makes us worried about whether we can ever afford to come back to England as everything is so expensive.
ha, you try living in ireland, we do all the energy saving things and our bills over the year work out about 2,500 euro per year. there is no other suppliers and they bill you every 2 months so they can hit you with extra service charges and vat.
You don't say whether your old amount(s) actually paid for all the power that you were using. Are your bills being over-estimated now, or were they previously under-estimated.?
