How can i cool down my house?
Question:it 80 degrees. we dont have AC. i bought a fan and it doesnt cool down the house. how can i cool down my house? i heard putting ice cubes by the fan would help. but it didnt really work. please its midnight and i cant sleep. i have to be up for school at six. i have to sleep. how can i survive the hot air?

Try a cool shower and put a cold towel on your head, take a couple of tylenol that should help you sleep
in the early morning, open the windows and let the cool air in. When the days gets warm, clsoe the windows, curtains and shutters if you have them. This keeps the cool air in and the warm air out.
(2) if you have an attic with a trap door, open the door. Hot air rises from the house and escapes into the attic.
You can buy a window air conditioner for as low as $100. It would be enough to cool down a room.

unfortunately, I don't think there is a solution that will help that quickly. Here are some ideas that will help moving forward.
1. If the attic is not insulated, insulate it.
2. Add an attic exhaust fan. I have heard that you can cool the temperature of an attic by as much as 20 degrees with an attic exhaust fan. A cooler attic means a cooler house.
3. put a film on your windows that block UV light. This will keep the home cooler as well.

dude you gotta chill and try putting ice cubes by your fan. this will let some cool air in as well. or crack a window. if all else fails, then try to pull an all nighter. there isnt much to do with out any ac
