I want to start a community association on my street and I need some help?

Question:My wife and I just move to a new house and we are little upset in how some neightbors keep their houses ... and the street, my house is the cut off between really pretty houses and really ugly houses... I want to clean the ugly section with out offending the neightbors

My guess is you would have to circulate a petion and have a high enough percentage for the town/village to do anything about it. You could call in complaints without them knowing who you are if it is real bad and they would have no other choice but to start making repairs. Problem is you knew what you were moving into and your neighbors with the nice places might not want to get involved. Maybe there is a drug or gang problem at that end of the block. You need to get as much info as possible before making waves would be my advice.
