Walsall Training Centre/plumbing and gas?

Question:Has anyone attended the above training facility in Walsall for plumbing and gas courses?All feedback concerning value for money ,course content etc would be appreciated.

As a Plumber myself I have heard about these courses that can make you a Plumber or gas fitter in weeks and as someone who did a 5 year apprenticeship and has City and Guilds, I cannot see how this can be done. Plumbing includes lead to copper jointing, Cast iron guttering and downpipes, Lead flashing work and lead burning, Man hole construction is also part and parcel of the job. Sectional cast iron radiators . How do you repair a leaking section on them? In hospitals, you have to work on Stainless steel pipework which requires a different method of flux and soldering. Will you learn all this in a few weeks to be fully qualified. I don't think so. You will learn the basics under ideal working conditions, but on site it is entirely different.
