Would you change to Powergen for Gas and Electicity?
Question:Powergen do quite well in the tables, and giveTesco points so I'm thinking of changing. Anyone out there knows a reason why not please?
Answers:
no im with them and was without power from friday eve to sat dinner because they didnt send me a new meter key they are inefficient and most un helpful not to mention expensive try someone else!
Powergen are inefficient. Despite the fact I have a prepayment key meter, Powergen were harassing me for six months over a considerable amount supposedly owed to them for electricity and threatening to execute a warrant. I sent no less than six recorded delivery letters explaining I have a prepayment meter and therefore owed nothing. It is only when I set the electricity regulator on the case that they acknowledged they had made a mistake.
Nope. I dont really think so.
I am with Utility Warehouse (formerly Telecom Plus) and like the way they do gas/elec/ home phone/mobile/internet all together. One itemised bill for the lot and they are competitively priced + loyalty cashback.
However my Mum's flat was NTL cable and Virgin bought them. She now gets a terrific Virginmedia package including all her UK calls 'free', broadband & a Virgin+ box that she can record to plus loads of freeview channels & more. No tapes or DVDs are needed for recording plus she can record more than 1 prog at once & copy any recording on to DVD or videotape. Also a v good film library - pay to watch - (£2-3.50 per film) with TV on Demand inc the weeks progs for 7 days as well.
I cant quote you a price for all that as she has retained her Sky Sports package which muddies the calculation. I can tell you that it is only £7.50 a month more than when she just had a phone line and Sky Sports from NTL. Its phenomenally good value.
Why am I telling you all this? Because I saw an article that Virgin are set to add gas & electricity to their portfolio later in the year. Its all gone quiet since I saw that but I reckon its likely. If they do then I am certainly going to change over to them.
No I dont work for them nor do I have shares :-)
Good Luck with your changeover whatever you decide.
depends on charges
