If you plant the seed pods from peony bushes, do they grow new peonies?

Question:This was the first year our transplanted and recently divided peony bloomed. We didn't have this situation last year. I've heard it's good to remove the seed pods anyway, and want to know if I do, can I plant them and get new peonies?
Thank you!
