How do I reduce the amount of dust in my room?
Question:My house is not dusty, but for some reason my room is extremely dusty. I dust pretty often but it comes back so fast. Leaving my window open or shut hasn't made much difference. What could be the problem and what can I do to reduce the dust?
Answers:
A air filter works well to cut down on the dust, I've experiences this when I've used them. Keeping the door bedroom door closed with the filter going will also cut down on the dust and keep the air clean.
I know books shouldn't be in your bedroom because they collect dust.
I have covers on my box-spring and mattress to keep the dust mites out, this would help since their waste is a part of dust. Walmart sells some good dust-mite covers. Washing bedding in hot water will cut down on problems with the dust mites as well.
They also have those robot vacs that will sweep up the floor if you can afford and keep things off the floor. My upright vacuum has a Hepa filter on it so that's an option too.

Hi,
A lot of what we perceive to be dust is actually dead skin that has rubbed off.could be that.
Try hoovering as opposed to dusting. Dusting only seems to move it around.
If your room ceiling is the floor to the attic check around the edges of the ceiling to make sure nothing is blowing down from above.

Hi
I am allergic to dust and had to put HEPA filters in my room. They are machines that remove dust and purify the air. Also vacuuming with a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner helps. When you dust use a moist rag instead of dry dusting.
They have some furniture spray which helps a little with dust on furniture.
Hope this helps a little
Change the filter in your home's air conditioning/heating unit. Keep your room vacuumed at all times and fold your laundry somewhere else before bringing it into your room. Also, bathing/showering regularly to prevent dandruff and dead skin cells from getting into the air. Use anti-static sheets in your drying cycle too.
