Are foxes eating my strawberries and courgette plants?

Question:i have seen a fox in my garden. my ripe strawberries are being eaten by something with a big mouth! and also a whole courgette has been felled and removed from its pot. are the two linked. if so any ideas how tp protect my plants

Answers:
No. Foxes are carnivores. They are not interested in eating strawberries. They do eat things that eat strawberries, so maybe you have rats or mice.

No it's deer.

Um... how is anybody on the internet suppsed to know? It's your garden!!

Put a webcam out there and we'll watch it for you.
yes .
Its deer.
A fence might stop them, mind you they are pretty good jumpers.
I was recently told that if you paint your fence yellow, painted the pot yellow... the deer wont bother your garden.
It makes sense considering that they wont eat yellow plants or flowers. Daffodils, marsh marigolds... etc.

Its worth a try :)
chicken wire;that's what you need.
never heard of a fox eating fruit & veddgies.
whoever cat's have been known to eat sweet corn & cat nip.
so it's possibel,it could be a fox .
I new a labrador dog that use to eat apples off the tree.
have you got any small children?
they like strawberries.and digging in the garden.
It could just be mice, or even rats eating your strawberries. I have had both foxes and mice in my garden and it was the mice who ate (tried to eat) my strawberries. Good luck stopping them.
No. It's that git next door!
no its probally kids or a green eyed monster of a neighbour
Mice or rats could be the problem. Racoons love to eat fresh produce, too. Chicken wire wrapped around the plant could work, or you could try playing a radio near the garden.

One answerer said to plant marigolds. Something has chomped every one of my 8 inch marigold plants to stubs!
please don't take this the wrong way or anything but a vegetarian fox ummmmmmmmmmmm. no I can't see that personally and the more i think of it I want to laugh.
No but honestly although Fox's are becoming pushed ever moor towards Urban society their diet does not really change.
they are nocturnal and meat eaters and nothing will change that.
