**Problem with neighbours central heating vent*...steam fills my garden ...?
Question:I don't even know if it's steam. Some say it's carbon dioxide.
The vent is less that a metre from my window and fills my garden with so much steam I can't see the other end sometimes.
I don't know whether to keep my air vent and bedroom window closed.
Would a small fence block the steam from my property?
Thanks in anticipation...

You really need to know what it is. If the neighbors aren't helpful, you could call a city inspector or housing authority. If it's just steam it wouldn't poison you, but if it's very hot, steam can give you burns. A stout fence may help. Carbon dioxide is not a good thing to breathe. It could possibly make you sick. Don't be shy about asking. Take care.

I would keep your bedroom window closed because you don't want all of that substance coming into your home. A fence could possibly help, but it would not solve the problem. Have you asked your neighbor what it is? Tell them that you are concerned about this. Maybe they will have it looked at.
That is most likely condensaton and it will not hurt.
I would mention to the neighbors that what seems like an excessive amount of condensation comes out of the vent and you were curious if their unit was working properly.
It may not be running properly and they should have a HVAC technician look at it.
have a the air coming out of the hea ter wall vent checked and check on the building code in your area for the wall vent
