Bringing clothes to a consignment shop, any tips?
Question:I'm moving out of my parents house (dont have a set date yet, we're looking at a promising place on Thursday)..
Anyways, I'm only 20 and dont have a heck of a lot of money. I have a TUN of clothes! I have a whole walk-in closet full of clothes and then 2 dressers in my room full!! and i dont half of them. To earn some extra cash I want to bring them to the consignment shop. I realize that I shouldnt bring my sweatshirts, jeans, and hoodies right now (because its summer) but I have a lot of sun-dresses and shoes that I'm not wearing.
Any tips on this?
Answers:
Make sure they are clean and in good condition. The stores in my area won't take anything that has missing buttons, broken zippers, torn or has a stain. Also make sure they are still "in style".
If there's a Plato's Closet in your area, they are pretty picky but they will pay well for clean, undamaged, in-style clothing and accessories. Don't forget purses jewelry, belts, pajamas, cds, dvds, etc.
