Kitchens, has anyone had one fitted recently?
Question:I am going to have a new fitted kitchen, don't want to pay more than £2-3k. Any recommended places to go?

If you know a builder who has an account at Howdens joinery speak nicely to him and he will get you a good deal on the kitchen.
We got ours from MFI in a sale and it was an unbelieveable bargain. You should check to see whether any Bank Holiday sales have been extended.
We managed to get a 12 piece fitted kitchen for £350 when the exact same kitchen as a 10 piece would have cost £800 purely because only the 12 piece was in the sale. We have since sold on these cabinets. Find out what deals they can offer you!
Band Q cheap but the 6 months intrest free offer well it took 5 months from paying till fitting so that wasnt much of an offer. Their after sales care is appaling ... we have 4 or 5 friends say the same since we mentioned ours. They sent the wrong pice 4 times in all we had the kitchen complete 14 months after we paid for it. And that seems pretty consistant with the general feel for how they did buisness. Even their trades men alluded that our experience was not unusual
Talk to your friendly local builder! They will have trade accounts at builders merchants and can get you a good deal.
I took a display one at mfi, it was a £3000 kitchen but it was on sale for £1000, after a bit of haggling i manged to get it down to £500 what a bargain seening as it was one of their best kitchens.
mfi do good sales, or ask when they sell their kitchens that are on display
agree with "plasterur", Howdens are good, they are the parent company of MFI and make all their kitchens. you can get a catalogue and price list from them but you will probably have to get someone in the trade to purchase it as they are trade only.
Or you could tell them you work for a local builder but want to be a cash buyer sometimes they will sell to you.
you must have money to burn, we bought our cupboards and fitted them ourselves
