EEK...Mice!?
Question:Lately I'm having a problem with mice. I think they may be coming in from my basement or even attic, dunno. My house is clean, why all of a sudden? I've caught 4 in the last couple of months and see signs of more...HELP!
Answers:
oh you can thank the "animal loving lady next door". The one like the idiot we had here who was feeding the poor little rats because "they need to eat too"...
Whatever you do, don't just catch them and release them somewhere else so they can be someone else's problem.
I say use whatever methods you can afford to get rid of them:
poison, dynamite, napalm, traps, ratzapper... they all work. I used those warfarin bars and they worked great. Like it says on the package: they're to die for.
get a mousetrap
pet snake?
Get a cat!
mouse traps with peanut butter on them instead of cheese...works on some of them
time to get Cleocatra, Thomasina, Garfield, Heathcliff, oh! You know what I am talking about...ADOPT A CAT!
I suggest that you get a PEST CONTROL or get those mice pellets and a mouse trap.
well what ever you do get rid of it humanely
likely..they may have had babies.you probably need to keep setting out traps till you get rid of them!
Persistent little bastards aren't they?
Good ol de-con works good. If you have pets concider the rat zapper. http://www.ratzapper.com/
you need to definetely call an exterminator because there is (i dont mean to scare you) a colony of them somewhere in the house. Mice are known for being very speedy reproducers, and if you've caught 4 in one month then there is DEFINETELY alot more of them. Call an exterminator and quick!
If you dont want to splurge on an exterminator (or deal with the embarrassment of the truck being in front of your house) you can get a little thing (I'm sorry I forgot what its called) but we have one and its a little device that sends out pulses of sound that you cant hear that drives little critters like squirrels and mice CRAZY and they will eventually run away
2 mice can become 60 in a few weeks =/
SOOOO...you better get them all terminated pretty soon. Make sure there's NO FOOD in your basement, canned food is ok though.
They obviously have food down there to be able to survive, I'm sorry for you.
the time of the year they are looking for food
Mice aren't a sign of a dirty house. It just means there is an opening somewhere where the mice can come in from outside, and let's face it, any mouse would probably prefer to live in a house than out in an alley or trash can! ;) Put out some D-con and in a week or so plug up all the holes to the house. They can get in VERY small spaces so you will have to do some good investigation. You can use caulk or insulating foam or even rags if you have to.
Freeze any extras, don`t waste them ! Seriously now; mice often produce small colonies where conditions are favorable, and to thrive they need access to food. Be certain that all pet, dog, cat, bird food is NOT giving mice a free meal. All corn, seed, nuts, cereals should be kept in mouse proof conditions, straw ,hay, old sacks and clothing, are possible nest sites. Continue trapping them, find out what they eat, or where they nest, starve them and trap them.
Check for wholes in the house and sealed them. Check if some of the furniture have wholes and do the same. And clean the kitchen of rubbish and food and use traps for mice and the sticky paper with food on it.
Good Luck!. oh and clean the basement or attic cause their house could be there.
