Question:
Answers:
$15,000
you wold be better off goin on line to look for a specialist or an antique dealer to get an accurate price, then you could sell directly to them or sell on e bay or in an auction with a reserve put on it so it wont sell for less then it is worth!
dont think the avergae person on here will know anything about antique violins, you gotta take it to a specialist violin place or antiques place/dealer.
If you live in America you can check out the Antiques Roadshow. It's a traveling antiques appraisal show that can tell you exactly how much it is worth.

Violins vary too much in quality to guess. Most violins are reproductions of famous instruments, including the label. I recently sold a steiner repro- about 100 yrs old - on ebay for $450. I have no idea whether I did well or not. Try to find a luthier (violin repair/maker) to appraise it for you. Oddly, you will often find that an old bow is worth more than the violin.
