Question about mouse infestation?

Question:My apartment is invested with mice, that is why I am moving. I have caught 27 mice on sticky traps over the course of two months, I see usually 1-3 mice a night 9possibly the same mouse) Once I caught two mice on one trap. My question really has to do with the fact that one night I saw a mouse run under my couch, I moved the couch and saw nothing, then I jumped up and down on the couch and not one but three mice came out. I wonder if they live/lived in there. Out of all my apartment behind my couch has the most droppings, and little snakcs that these mice pick up. Should I move my couch to my new apartment? I do not want to bring the mice! Is there any way to make sure they are all out? Or better to just throw out my couch? I would rather live without a couch for a while then be terorrized by mice! How do I make sure all the mice are out of my couch? I don't think jumping up and down will do the trick.

Answers:
you have problems big time.
I'd get rid of the couch. A mouse can fit in really small places so no matter how good you think you've looked, it's not good enough.

use some jellies they are so good.some red jellies against mice but they can even a rat =))
Considering all the disease (leptospirosis, salmonella, Mousebite fever, ricketsiallpox, lymphocytic choriomeningitis, tapeworms, ringworms and hantavirus) mice carry, i'd consider throwing out the couch. After all, think about them nesting in there, spreading fecal/urinal matter about, possibly being dead inside as well. Torch the thing, better yet! Also, why didn't your landlord take action against such a horrible living environment, that's completely unsanitary?
If you're in Orlando or central florida, call these guys www.xtermpest.com. I used them to clear out an infestation in my mom's place.

Me personally, I'd throw the couch out and check my lease agreement. most apartments have a clause about pest control and critter control and mice are typically the landlord's responsibility.

Not only are they a dangerous vector for disease and can damage your stuff, but if they get into the electrical mains -- like the wiring near your insulation, they can cause a serious fire.
