Harmful Chemicals in Soil create Vegetables that are not safe to eat?

Question:I just built an arbor (shading structure) for my vegetable garden in my backyard. For my columns I had to make place them firm intro the ground so I dug holes and filled them up with concrete so that it is structurally stable. Now this is a small garden and I am wondering if the chemicals from the concrete filled holes can be harmful to my plants… or if eating the vegetables from them is no longer safe? Concrete usually adheres to other particles and I don’t think that plants don’t shallow them whole lol.

Thanks

I don't think it will do harm, but if you are worried about it there are steps you can take. Dig a ditch between the concrete and the growing area. Put a wooden barrier with untreated wood in the ditch then fill it in with the dirt you took out. It should stop any chemicals leeching into the soil you are growing the veggies in. The barrier should go deeper than the concrete however.

hmm idk, just try tasting one a little and if it taste normal then just go for it. or maybe u should just plant your vegetables somewhere else if ur so worried
