What plant would be best suited for a college dorm room?

Question:I want to keep a plant in my small dorm room to keep the room full of oxygen. What other benefits are there to keeping plants in your home?

Answers:
For busy people the best plants are cacti. They don't take a lot of care or watering but can add a touch of green to your room.
As for the other benefits... having something from nature in a room especially a growing plant can give a sense of calm and well being. Also having one gives you a responsibility outside yourself (yes even a cacti that just needs watering once in a blue moon) to think of.

philodendren, they grow quickly and easily
A Spider Plant will add color and interest. The leaves can be all green or verigated green and white. The plant sends out long stems that flower & grow new plants without polination. They are excellent for keeping a room fresh - like all plants, they take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. They will survive well with little light. They are also excellent as both a hanging plant or sitting on a table.
