Sloped back yard with weeds/dug up soil...what to do next?
Question:Hello, I have a relatively level back yard which slopes significantly(~35-40 degrees) at the end of the yard(~35ft x ~20ft space) and goes into common land which is heavily wooded. The 35x20ft space was covered with weeds and sumac trees which I have completely removed(and thus now have patchy areas of dug up soil from where I sawed as well as physically pulled out the trees and roots). I'd like to make this space an extension of my backyard and to have healthy grass growing in that location. Are there any recommendations on how I can achieve this? I'm sure there are many options but I'm looking for something that's relatively easy to do. I did apply Ortho Weed Be Gone Max to heavily weeded areas but now looking for the most effective way to promote healthy growth of new grass. Thanks.
Answers:
----Use manure and a sprinkler system can be easy to install. ----With the removal of the trees you should be concerned with erosion. ---- Build a retaining wall in strategic areas and plant around them. ---- A water feature would look great and keep thing's cool in the summer. Have fun.
burn the grass if you can then have it tilled again and then sow some seeds
