How do you prevent keys get loss at home?

Question:Any tips or good habits to get keys organized. Cheap, easy ways are preferred.

Answers:
Keep them on your keyring and always put them in the same place when you walk in your home. It will soon become a habit and you won't be searching the whole house for them...Put spare keys on seperate keyrings and lable the ring with one of those cheap plastic keyring bob's (?!)...Keep all of them together but not where your everyday keys are.
Believe me...This works for me .

buy some of those plastic clips that stick on the wall and put them in the laundry or near the front door so that you see it on your way out, that way no one forgets their keys.
Don't go home! Because if you do! you may lose them again.or get a key caddy and try to practice using it. As we have one, but don't use it. Or practice putting them in the same spot everyday you use them.
If I lost my keys all the time, I would mount one of those key hook things next to the door, so as soon as I come into the house, I put it on a hook. They have all different kinds, so there is definitely one that will fit your homes decor. Hope I was of some help! :)
Find one particular place that you will decide to routinely place your keys when you walk in the door.
I have used the nail I have hung my calendar on to place my keys. That way they are in one certain place, up out of the reach of small children, easy to see (for me) and easy for me to get to.
If you have several keys for several items around your home, organize them according to their use. Example: Suitcase keys: Have them on one key ring, with a certain color tag. Like blue-for travelling. House keys--each person should have their own on their own key chain. Extra house keys--on a key ring--in a certain location, with another color tag--green. For extra car keys--another tag-of another color--like red--in a certain place in your home. Like in a desk drawer, etc.
If you are needing to organize and "label" each person's separate keys---in the household---Each person could have their own key chain--each one unique from the others--or a different style of key-like tie-dyed for the young person--etc. Then, have a certain place in your home like in the kitchen, or close to the door everyone goes out to go places--on a few hooks or nails by the door, etc.
I hope this helps. Take care.
i have a big glass bowl near the door. when i get home... i empty my pockets in there. keys... wallet and all. not recommended where thieves are present
Oh not just keys. I can lose anything(except my kids!). Once I was looking for my glasses after a nap. My hubby found them for me because I was wearing them!
Here is my tip. After the following steps I never lost my keys.

First of all, I put all my keys that I need daily in one key-chain.
Second, choose the right kind of key-chain. The right one for me came by surprise. My son made me a special key chain (beaded) for my mother's day gift. It is about 4 inches long but very light. (You don't want large and heavy keychains since the weight may wear the car ignition.)
I always put the keys in a basket very close to the entrance of the house, so every time I come home I can put them there right away. I only put a few things in the basket so I can always see the keys. It's been easy to find my keys even occasionally I did forget them at odd places. Because of the size and shape of the key chain, it never took long for me to find them.
Hope these tips help. Good luck!
