What do to about nightmare neighbors?
Question:I bought a house last year and within 2 months the homeowner next door decided to rent out her house to what has turned out to be NIGHTMARE neighbors. They have 3 dogs (Rottweiler, Pit Bull and German Shepard) who bark c o n s t a n t l y, and the Rott and Pit escape from the back yard on a regular basis. (There are children and elderly people in this neighborhood). They play loud bass music starting at about 10pm til about 12pm. Their yard now looks more like a landfill or abandoned flea-market than a house and roughly 15 people live there as far as I can count. They have at least 9 kids under the age of 10 that are let loose to scream and yell outside for hours on end and if we go in my backyard (me,my children or my dogs) their dogs will bark at us the whole time!!! Nevermind the overwhelming smell of dog feces. They leave their bikes in my yard, pick my flowers and throw eggs at my house. I've called Animal Control and the Police and nothing has changed. Please help!!

Find out if they own the land. My dad bought the neighbor's property from the realtor when we had that happen. Of course the adults were some in jail, some in hiding, and the youngest child became a foster child coz she was being abused. Dad was pressured into it by other landowners who lived near us. He did it knowing the thieves and bums wouldn't be able to come back after they got out of jail.
Or you could sell your house and move.

Call the landlord - if you don't know who it is, check property tax records, they will have it listed - tell him about the problems, if he doesn't fix it, tell him you will get your local Health Department involved and get the place condemned - that may light a fire under him.
what a drag....try calling the health deparment and report the smell and mosquitos,and also child services and report neglect.also talk with the neighbors across the street and next door to them, and also next to you..Stick together.Also the home isn't zoned for multiple famillies so there is a building code infraction too. Try also the fire dept. and ask them to assess the fire danger with the dump in the back yard. Also take the owner to court and sue her for neglect and causing you emotional distress..."get a lawyer", good luck! Also get the city involved to check if the home is unsafe.....In the meantime show some affection to their kids, give them toys your kids don't use , books or paints.chaulks are also good for them to doodle on the side walk with...Sadly its not their fault but a little love goes along way..
If you can, call the homeowner. Be courteous and explain about the dogs and possible liabilities the homeowner might have, due to insurance regulations.
Then call DHR and explain the situation with the children. They will check on them without mentioning from whence the complaint came.
Get a clicker from a pet store. When you go out take the clicker. When the nasty dogs bark, click the thing and say in a firm voice 'Quite' or 'Hush'. When they do hush throw them a treat.
If you find a bike in your yard, simply move it into the middle of the street. Be consistent. If anyone says anything just say you weren't sure whose it was and you thought the rightful owner would see it from there.
As for your flowers...well a little black or cayenne pepper put n them consistently for a few weeks (or days depending on how often they are picked) should take care of that problem.
When the music is so loud after reasonable hours...call the police. Reasonable is between 7 am and 10 pm in most places. I am certain your area has certain restrictions as well.
The key is being consistent on everything. Make your calls even if it is several times a day/night. The squeaky wheel gets oiled. You may have to be a nuisance to get the problem resolved, but it will happen.

First mix up some anti-freeze with some hamburger and give the mutts a midnight snack. than call Dept. of Human services and say they are beating their kids. Then Run every bicyle that you can find over with your car. Then go to the door and tell them that you cannot believe that they could live in a house after the grizzley murder that occured their. Ask if they have found any bones in the yard. Some of the people were burried there you know. Then sit back and wait. Better yet sell your place and get the hell out.
