What kind of bug deterrents or bug killers can I place at the front door to prevent swarms?
Question:I want to keep them from coming in through the front door when the family comes and goes or takes out trash.
I'm especially concerned about gnats, as well as the many others. The neighbor has thousands in his yard. I've read about a UV zapper that lures bugs attracted to UV, but will that lure more gnats to this house or will it not even work (as in are they even attracted to UV light)?

replace your light bulb in your exterior porch light by a yellow bulb that detract insects. it pays to visit your local nursery and find out was available for your area.. there should be a products available that you can use around your house to minimize maybe not eliminate but sure can make a difference.
they make this stuff called fly bait. You can buy it at your local feed and seed store, or maybe a hardware store. You put it in a bowl right by your door, naking sure that no kids or animals can eat it, and it works wonders.
