My refrigerator does get as cold as it used to what may be wrong?

Question:

Answers:
A few options.
1) You have it packed too full and there isn't enough circulation getting around the food. Move the food away from any vents inside the fridge.
2) If is a fridge/freezer sometimes the freezer unit blows into the fridge and you may need to defrost the freezer unit to as to regain air flow.
3) Fridges use condensors to cool things down. A pump compresses a gas----used to be freon---- and then lets it expand in a system of tubes on the back. This expansion causes cooling. Perhaps you have a leak in the line or some of this gas has escaped over time and it no longer cools as effieciently.
4) The compresor mentioned above may not be holding its seal and giving a good pressure.

If 1 and 2 don't work call a repair guy out and he will be able to fix it pretty easy, get it repaired if it is just a refill of the gas. Any more major repairs and it may be cheaper to just buy a new fridge.

Make sure it is clean underneath and behind the refrigerator. If the coils have become coated with dust/dirt the efficiency could be compromised. Also, check inside and make sure the settings have not been changed. Check the seal strip along the door and make sure it is still sealing tightly.
If you mean that it dose not get as cold. On the bottom front their is a removable panel. On newer models the condenser is underneath the frig behind that panel. Remove that panel and look underneath with a flash light for dust. get that area as clean as possible. Pull the unit away from the wall and look for a fan where air is pulled in. Make sure the fan runs when your refrigerator is running and look for obstructions in that area. If it is an older frig. with a mesh looking condenser on the back clean that.
