Can I start a fruit and vegetable farm with a 300 square foot backyard?

Question:What kind of fruits or vegetable's can grow in the New York City Metropolitan Area?

Answers:
probably not a full on Farm, but there are some plants that may grow well in your area. Blueberries like the cooler weather and tomatoes grow well in pots. I would not recommend corn as it's water/soil to yeild ratio is very low (meanind it takes a lot of land, water, and work to make it worth it). Lettuce (MANY varieties) grows well in cooler areas but I'm not sure how it does in pots. Leaf lettuce can be grown in small patches and adds a nice variety to salads. Which brings me to herbs such as: basil, rosemary, mint and arugula (like a peppery flavored lettuce). All of these grow well in small areas (but the mint especially love to spread out)
