It seems like the burners of my stove are trying to blow themselves out, but not all of the openings light.?

Question:When I turn on my gas range, the burner ignites but not all of the openings light. If I turn it up to HIGH, It acts like it'sblowing too hard and sometimes blows itself out. If I keep it LOW, it doesn't light completely. Is there some kind of adjustment I can make?

Answers:
you seem to have a problem with the gas regulator!! this can be dangerous, call the utility company... too much pressure in there.. dirty burners will not blow out the flames!! you might be able to adjust the air flow aperture,, but it sounds to me like your pressure is too high...

I moved into a house that has been empty for ten years. Our stove did the same thing. I took off the burner ring, soaked it in soapy, hot water and used toothpicks to clean out the holes. Worked great ever since.
