How long will it take for my ivy vine to grow? Do you have any?

Question:I used to have a lot of the ivy vines all over my house, but it was way to invasive so i cut them all done. years later, they are stil coming back with little ivy vines. So i took the roots and the vines a i planted them by a fence instead. How long will it take them to grow in part shade with all the water they need? They are just small now, but how long will it take? I live in ontario canada.

I planted ivy on a shaded hill,it took several years,but now is a solid carpet.I live in the US on the edge of Lake Erie.
