How do you empty a large above ground pool?

Question:

Answers:
Step One - Stop adding chemicals to the pool water. Wait half a week.
Step Two- Rent an electric pump.
Step: Three- Place the intake hose in the pool and the outlet hose in the center of the lawn.
Step Four- Plug in and turn on the pump, priming per the manufacturer's recommendations. Run until lawn is soggy. Turn off pump and wait until water has seeped into lawn.
Step Five-Restart pump.
Step Six-Repeat until drained.

Sump pump or siphon to a drain
divert your pump filter
There should be a drainage tap for you to open although if there isnt I suppose you could use a hose and drain it over the side.
If you are done with it and no longer want it collaspe the wall and it will drain rapidly. Home depot has sump pumps or another sumersible pump
Best Recommendation I can think of:
. Find your storm drain somewhere out near you street (hopefull)
. Get a Long Hose that will fit to the storm drain / sewer
. Using syphoning, start the flow of water (Water will flow over the wall initially if you get the water flowing through a syphoning action on the hose)
. It will likely weaken to the point the syphon won't worka bout 1/2 to the bottom (might go farther, not sure)
. At that point you probably will need to hook up a submergible pump to it and continue to pump the water into the sewer system. This could also be done from the begining.

Alternatively, because I really dont know... there's not some valve at the bottom of the pool you can hook a hose to and then drain it to the storm drain? Just checking.

I do know a submergible pump (should be able to be found at pool supply) will work. Don't know if your recirculating pump for the water can do the same.

Ok, out of ideas.

Hope it helps.

Take Care,

TBG
Is the pool Soft sided
AS YOU WILL NEED TO BRACE THE SIDES WITH LONG BOARDS IN THE CENTER TO PREVENT COLAPES
if it has soft sides just start from the top and push..if not then a hose
