How do I keep birds out of my barn?
Question:i dont care how to do it. tons or sparrows and starlings.
Answers:
There dozens of ways to control birds humanely and effectively. The snake idea is on the right track, but the problem with that is, as the snake doesn't change at all, the birds will quickly become used to it and stop being afraid of it. The next level of that, what we call a visual scare device, would be something like the TerrorEyes (http://www.bird-x.com/products/terror.ht... The TerrorEyes is a large, orange balloon with owl markings and holographic eyes that appear to follow the birds wherever they go. This scares them immensely, and they flee the barn. Other products available are a variety of roost inhibitors, taste aversions, sonic repellers or ultrasonic disrupters, that, once you find the right combination, are certain to get rid of those birds. Close all the doors and board up all openings small enough for a bird to enter.
A fake snake. The biggest you can find. Place them around the openings or hang them up. Also, you can use wind chimes, tin pie plates hung on strings. I use a combination of all in my fig trees and it works! I hope it helps in your barn.
Go to the local pound and get a young cat. Preferably a female cat because they make the best hunters. Put her in the barn and only feed and water her there. It will become her home and the birds will leave or be eaten
