Recommend a good generator?

Question:Hurricane season is around the corner, and we are going to buy a generator this season.
Problem is that we live in a townhouse and would like just a small generator that isn't really loud just to power fridge, one light and a fan.
Any reccomendations... we were looking at Honda, but they are pretty expensive.

Answers:
You could either buy a quiet generator from the start or modify another one to create less noise. Have you considered powering a television or radio to keep up to date on news? What about a microwave or toaster oven to help with meal preparation?
If you are willing to share the electricity, I suspect your neighbors will be more accepting of the noise. Run an extension cord so they can run their fridge or some lights as well. They may even pitch in with supplying gas to keep it running.

I have other generator ideas on my web page.

My father in law just got one and I believe it was a honda. They are good. You can look around at the dealers and see which one would be better for you.
