Can someone advise on the use of filtration of home water system ? I am confused !?

Question:Different marketing brands tell you different things. Lately PUB replied in ST that there is no need to have home water filtration as the water is deemed clean and safe. Amway, Diamond are just 2 brands among others that suggest different. HELP!

My father owned a commercial plating company and someone wanted him to sell water filters. He borrowed the demo model and tested the water before and after he used it. He said the water was no better than the water from the tap. If you have city water (and not well water), and your pipes are in good condition, you shouldn't need a water purifier. If you really want one, use a sorce like consumer reports to see which ones are "the best." Everyone is going to claim to be wonderful in their ads. I hope that helps some.
