A/c window unit do they raise electric bill?

Question:

Answers:
If you turn it on yes it does.

yes it does big time we have two of them and in the summer our electric is way up. If you can afford to get a central A/C you'll make a way better investment.
Yes! Anything using electricity will raise the electric bill including appliances that are plugged into the wall when not in use. They are still drawing electrical current. But back to A/C window units, they do use a lot of electricity. They do not use as much as a central air system because with the window a/c you should only use it for 1 room location.
My dad had central air when we were growing up. and then he put in window units, so I asked him why and he said they cost less then central air.
Yes, they use electricity so therefore they will raise your electric bill. The again, so does my central unit when it's turned on. But I'll gladly pay the bill to stay comfortable when it gets too hot outside. Plus, a/c units have a thermostat so that you can adjust the temp. I raise mine in the morning and lower it in the evening to save moeny.
When you use more electriciy your bill will go up. Running a window a/c unit will definatley benefit the electric company will more money and benefit you with more comfort.
Nothing is free.
