We have a common maple tree in the yard?

Question:I notice that the leaves are withering a little and there are little balls of small red bumps all over the tree. Is that a fungus or something. What can I do about it. It looks really gross. I live in the Northeast

I'd call a nursery or take a sample to a nursery and ask them. Sorry, I can't answer your question directly, but when I've had tree problems that's what I do. I live in the Northeast too.
