How do you discard a very large T.V.?
Question:I have a 22.5'' TV that is blown out and I wanna throw it away. Do I just leave it in the garbage shoot? What do I do? It's very bulky and heavy, not a flatscreen.
Answers:
Put it on the sidewalk in front of your house.. someone will take it :p I did that to a blown up pc screen once and it disappeared in thin air. Never saw it again.
Just bring it to a dumpster or set it out in front of your house the morning the garbage man comes...he will take care of it and you won't have furniture sitting outside your house for a long time..
Hi,
If you think 22.5" is very large you should come and try to move my Toshiba 33"...lol
Smash it up and dispose of it is small parts or advertise it 'Free for spares, collection only'.

Some Latin American recycle that things if you just leave it the dump. If you give that to them they will sell it even for you, if you ask for it.
inside your tube television is a vacuum where there is... nothing.. which uses up space. Shoot it with a gun from a safe distance. you will be left with the plastic casing, a bowl shaped piece of metal with some electronics, and a pile of broken glass :)
sounds like you live in a condo or apt in a big city. if you have a car i would make a garbage run to an apartment complex like at 9pm or so when the maintance guys arent there. and dump it in their dumpsters. or drop it off at good will. they have dumpsters. i'm a homeowner and i put mine out on heavy trash day. good luck.
Go to yahoo groups and search for freecycle network in your area. Post the tv and someone will ask you for it and come and get it.
If it is too big for 4 people to bring it out, your only other option is to dimantle it.. Then place the whole junk on the curb.
