I was having a problem because we live in a wooded area with a lot of pine trees. When it rained or got cold they wanted to come for a visit. A friend told me to get BORAX from the store. It is cheep, and the roaches walk through it and when they clean themselves and digest it they die. IT REALLY WORKED FOR ME!! Put it around the edges of your rooms by the walls, under sinks, fridge, stove, etc. Make sure no pets can get to it.
Well, they're attracted to water, so maybe check for leaks, I'd also get some of those "roach motel" traps as well.
Use borate. This is a white power from a naturally-occurring mineral that is non-toxic to humans and pets but means certain death to a long list of insects such as ants, termites, cockroaches, and is also effective as a fungicide. One form of borate is used in Borax, available in the laundry section of any supermarket.
You simply sprinkle some borate in areas where you see the pests and they will track it back to their nests and share it with others and in a couple of weeks they will be dead. Since this is not a chemical poison it is not instant, but over time it will work.
those Combat things work too

Bengal Gold roach spray.
I wasted $ on numerous foggers, various sprays & 1 treatment by an exterminator. Used the Gold with one application. Still no roaches when I sold the home 3 years later.
