Need a better way to catch a rat?

Question:I have caught and killed 7 rats so far, but the 8th is proving to be the toughest yet. I am limited with traps to purchase here in Singapore.

Does anyone have a good home rat killing solution (besides a cat)

Please help - wife is driving me nuts.

peanut butter with bleach... ball up some peanut butter pour on some bleach and then put more peanut butter on top of that to cover the scent. place on trap...if the trap doesnt work the peanut butter will.. once rat eats it the sucker will die.

try luring it in with something shiny, peanutbutter works well too.
