Is it normal for a refrigerator to have a mildly hot body when you 1st started it?
Question:I just plugged it in and is already running for an hour and when i checked on it, i felt that the body is a little hot... the left and right side walls are hot, but not the top and front side.. and the fridge part is not so cool.. how long does it take to be on normal working temperature. I've set the thermostat on 1 only..
Is this normal? or something is wrong? It's a mini personal ref btw.. and the brand is Panasonic.
Answers:
Yes, it is normal.
Mine is a Bosch, and the user manul says it is normal when the body is hot during the first 1-2 hours running. In Summer, it will take a little longer.
Some refs are cooled from the both sides while some are from the back, depending on the design.
If the hot body keeps going for more than 5 hrs, i think there might be some problem.
This is perfectly normal.
That is totally normal.
It is normal for all brand to generate heat on the outer wall when first switch on. It is not a malfunction. The fridge may run continuously for 6 to 12 hours in order to cool the entire cabinet to the normal operating temperature.
