What year did stihl make the o28 chainsaw??

Question:Hi i was just wondering what year stihl made these 028 chainsaws...i just picked one up real cheap and it looks like its in great condition.been sitting a while so im gonna replace all the rubber and give it a new airfilter...spark plug...will it need anything else do you think?

You picked up a great saw. The 028 was made from 1979-1990. Parts are still available. The 028 was VERY popular in my area of the country. I get at least 1 a week in for chains or parts. Congrats on the find and happy cutting.
