How can I keep birds from pooping on my patio and lawn furniture?

Question:I have a nice patio and nice lawn furniture but everyday when I got out to sit, there is bird poop all over my patio. Any suggestions on keeping the birds away?

Answers:
There really is no way to keep wild birds from flying where they choose, however, there are a few things you can do that will make your area less inviting to them. Keep bushes and tree's (places where they roost and hide) away from your patio. Decorative items that spin (the same effect as a scare crow blowing in the wind) makes them cautious and shy to go near. They have decorative wind socks, chimes, and those little spinning wheels that do the trick. Make sure there are no bird feeders or bird baths in the area as well. Hope this helps.

Put up a sign that says poop free zone!
install a retractable awning, purchase a patio tent or gazebo and place all your furniture underneath it, get a cat & leave it outside.
Build a bird house
This may sound like a silly answer but it worked for us. I took several of the CD's I've received in the mail from folks like AOL and drilled a small hole through it on an outer edge, put a few feet of string through the hole and hung this very shiny/reflective disk in some of my large trees. Worked great. The wind moves them and it frightens the birds. If your trees are not tall enough, try this on fence post or something similar.
Good Luck!
Need to know if you have a birdfeeder or birdbath near by...if you do, you gotta move it. And they love pooping on anything that lays under something they can perch on, power lines, trees, ect..
Try purchasing a fake Owl from your local home improvement store and place it near the furniture. Remember to move the fake Owl around the yard every few weeks, otherwise the birds will catch on and the poop will return.
You cannot do anything to keep the birds away. Hanging Cd's don't work, fake owls and the screaming eye balloon don't work either. The birds will get used to these fakes and just ignore them. The only thing to do is to cover your furniture when not in use.
