Heard Boric Acid is best way to rid of roaches...what was your best method?

We used to use boric acid to get rid of fleas and it was the best method. It kills all bugs.
This is the technique we used. First vacuum carpet thoroughly, get everyone out of the house, wear a mask and keep ventilation going, windows open fan on. Sprinkle boric acid liberaly throughout house on carpet. Next take push broom and rub it into carpet.
Come back in 30 minutes to an hour and vacuum really well. I wouldn't do this if I had babies in the house that crawl about a lot. But, otherwise it is safe enough if you wear a mask and vacuum well afterwards.
Boric Acid dries up the bugs. It's very effective.

Boric acid is a safer way to repel roaches. Heavy cleaning with an organic citus cleaner, focusing on areas where food and grease might be trapped, such as under sinks, garbage disposals, under refrigerators, free-standing stoves and under cooktops, are key. Keep pet foods sealed until time of use(never left out in the bowl for more than 2 hours), and be sure to keep mulch and dampness away from the outside walls of the house.
I would suggest cleaning your place every now and again
put some used coffee grounds in a glass jar and set it outside your room (you may need a few around the house). place something under it so the top is tilting against the wall, or tape some packing tap on the jar so the roaches can climb the jar. They will fall in and cannot get out. You can also add water in the jars so they drown.
