I bought a new leather computer chair and the fake leather smell is very over powering how do i get rid of it?

Question:i've had it for a day and i can smell the chemical smell throughout the house.

Is it really a leather chair or is the upholstery a vinyl/naugahyde? Real leather does have a scent, especially if it's been recently tanned. It should evaporate rather quickly.

You can wipe the upholstery with a leather cleaning product, which should cover the original overpowering scent. I would call the store from which you purchased the chair to get their advice. If they're an office supply, however, they probably won't be as much help as a furniture store would be.
