Why are big black ants coming into my home?
Question:they are in the kitchen now too, big black ants are crawling around, where do they hide in the kitchen?

I had the same problem most recently as up to two days ago.come to find out, they were carpenter ants.
and they were coming from a bag of mulch that I had sitting by the window..
Once I found the source, I opened the bag and noticed that they had built a "colony" in there.
I threw the bag away,and got some ant and spider granules from Walmart...
Havent seen any ants today.
Carpenter ants. get an exterminator, quickly. If you are seeing them in your house that probably means there are alot more and they have already done some damage. You would not believe the damage these little boogers can do
you better call an exterminator, they are capenter ants and can eat wood like termits. get rid of them asap
there coming in to eat your wood, wipe everything down with pure mint oil found in your local hardware store.

Catch several and do a web search for some photos of ants and identify the species.

the big black ants are carpenter ants and t they like to eat any wood in the house. if you have an ace or truvalue or a farm store, talk to someone in the department that has bug killer, they can direct you to the stuff that will kill them.
