Get rid of old couch and entertainment center?
Question:Any idea what the best way to unload this stuff is? This stuff still has value, I just don't need it. Anywhere to give it away for free where I won't be charged? I called 1-800-got-junk and they want like $400 to come get it!
Answers:
The other suggestions of Goodwill and/or Salvation Army are good ideas.
I've also seen people post fliers on the bulletin board of the local grocery store.
You could also put a listing on craigslist.
Or, you could leave it in front of where ever you live, overnight, and it will probably get picked up by scavengers.
Salvation Army. They pick up and it's a tax write off!
(In the US)
Most Salvation Army, Goodwill, or DAV stores have pick-up service.
Sell them... or give away for free.
goodwill
Salvation Army or a Goodwill.
where is it located.
i dont know where you live, but around here we have a place thats like a goodwill and they will come and pick up anything for free, clothes, furniture, anything. its called st. vincent de paul. try calling a few church organizations or goodwill or a mission- see if they have services to pick it up. my mom had a huge load of a few couches, a couple tables and a bunch of clothes and they took it no problem- but she gave the guys each like 20 bucks so they could at least get lunch or something- the stuff was heavy- but she didnt have to.
There is also a website where you can list your item for sale for free. It is www.craigslist.com, and you can list it for whatever price you think is fair, or list it as free (under that category), and tell prospective buyers the items are for pickup only.
www.craigslist.org much better than ebay
yeah, charities like Goodwill will pick it up for free, somtimes your local public broadcasting network runs pick-ups as well.
Take a photo and advertise it for sale at work. Have a yard sale, this way you can get rid of a lot of other stuff that has piled up and you can make money doing it.
