Is it really necessary to put an air conditioner in the window? Could I put it on a table and turn it on?

Question:

Well, yeah, you could put it on a table, but an air conditioner isn't a magical box, its a machine that follows the laws of thermodynamics.

In other words, you'd have cold air coming out of one end, and hot air coming out of the other, so it might cool YOU off, but the room would get hotter overall than it was in the first place because an air conditioner uses a motor that produces heat to redistribute energy to blow cold air out of the vents on the inside, and radiates its waste heat from the vanes on the outside...

Sure you could, but then there is nowhere for the hot air to exhaust and not to mention nowhere for the condensation to go.
Putting it on the table seems kinda reterded don't u think.
My opinion is to put it on the window to save space
Maybe it's just me, but I'm guessing that the side of the air conditioner that faces out of the window probably expels the warm air that you're getting rid of inside the house. I think they suck out the hot air and replace it with cooler air. So, I think if it's sitting on a table it would have to work twice as hard to cool the air since it's not shooting the warm air outside. And it may vibrate too much, anyway.
u can but it would be working twice as hard because the air isn't going directly into the unit so it'll be looking for the air
i wouldn't advise it it's probably hot enough in ur home. lol
An air conditioner is like a refrigerator, removing the heat from one location and discharging it in another. With a fridge, the cold location is separate from the hot location (i.e., the kitchen). With an air conditioner, you have to have this separation by putting the heat radiator outside the house, so that the cold air it makes is not just re-heated.
of course you can do it ! i has an air conditioned in a table in a small terrance and no problems , i only recomend that take care
whit te management of the power source of electricity can be
dangerous , be carefulll an no problem l
Air conditioners like window fans take the hot air out of the room and move it outside white it cools the air. Window fans draw the air inside outside. Of course the air conditioner cools the air using freon and is much more efficient in the window. There is also condensate (water) that is created in the process. It may drip in the floor.
You have to figure out what to do with the heat and humidity from the cooling that you are trying to achieve. Ideally, you could heat your waterheater from the exhausted heat and collect the condensed water to water your car battery. He
a simple suggestion for you is just put it in the window and make sure it drips outside. A much more efficient means of cooling if you can get by and is a lot cheaper to simply do run a fan and feel the wind.
