I have a Cuisinart Toaster; last night it was working, this morning the lever won't stay down; any ideas why?
Question:It's less than 1 year old, I don't know the model buy it's brushed stainless and kind of retro looking. We made BLT's last night, and now the bread won't stay down in the slot! It's not "catching" or however that works.
I can't find the receipt; I bought it at Sam's Club. Any ideas on how to get it to work?
Answers:
Check to make sure it is plugged in and also check that the breaker is on, we had the same problem in our kitchen and we have those special plugins with the test and reset buttons and the reset button needed to be pushed...make sure to check the breaker in the basement too. Good Luck hope it starts working!
try to unplug it and then if it don't work after you plug it back in try moving the cord around and see if that works
when's the last time it was cleaned? sometimes crumbs and stuff from the food you put in it can build up near the part it catches at, and you kinda have to jam it down a bit to get it to hold. If you hold down the lever, and the heating elements start to glow, then it could be its dirty.
Check to make sure it's still plugged in. I have a newer GE 4-slice toaster and the levers won't stay down if the plug is removed from the wall...probably to remind us it's unplugged.
Try checking with Cuisinart with your question via the web and see what they say.
If you just can't get the toaster to work, try returning it to Sam's and explain the situation. Maybe they'll allow you to exchange it.
