What is your opinion on the prices of kid's clothes at rummage sales??..?
Question:I am going through my girl's clothes - trying to unpack all the spring/summer stuff and store all the fall/winter stuff. There is ALOT of clothes and I don't know what is even going to fit them for next school year. So I thought maybe having a rummage sale and any money I get from the clothes I will put away until shopping for back to school comes around again. Anyways.is $2 or $3 too much for the nice jeans? (they are name brands, L.E.I., Mudd, Levi, Jordace...etc) and maybe $1 or $2 for the nicer shirts and sweaters?? I would not try to sell anything stained or torn. Any opinions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! (sorry - I did not know exactly which category to put this under)

Well seeing that consignment shops, and goodwill try to charge way more for things that aren't in that good of shape, I would say 2 bucks is not expensive especially if they are in good condition.
Your pricing sounds reasonable. If it's not selling you can always mark down.
If the jeans are virtually unused, $2-$3 is a fair price ($3 for the barely used, $2 for the rest). I think you have the right prices already in mind. You are not asking too much.
Have a box of free stuff for things that are stained but still usable. Some folks use them for play clothes in the dirt to save on the better clothing.
I have 3 boxes of baby clothes that aren't even mine to consign or sell on Ebay. Your post reminded me of them. (The Mom couldn't carry a pregnancy and just wanted them out of the house). It's the season!
The whole point of the yard sale is to get rid of the stuff and possibly make a little cash off of it. If they are nice jeans you could absolutely sell them for $2/3. It also depends on your neighbor hood/location. If they dont go you can always change the price. The shirts $1/2 is also good. You will be sure to sell out. Good Luck!!:)
I think ur price sounds reasonable. Near the end of the day we usually sell any remaining items by the bags or 10 shirts for $2.00, etc. If u see they aren't selling u can always mark down. We give all left overs to a mission, or to the local grade school. You would be surprised how many kids could use them and be happy. Our secretary or principle takes some, for use when spare clothes r needed during the day due to accidents.
Try taking them to a consignment shop first. If you sell them at a yard/rummage sale you may have a difficult time selling them. Your prices do sound about right though, but be prepared to negotiate!
