How do I keep deer from trampling my tomato plants ?

Question:

Answers:
a few feet away from the plants, put a row of stakes and run a length of fishing line between the stakes about 2 foot off the ground. The deer will run into the fishing line, but not be able to see it, and should choose a different path.

Build a fence around them.
I have heard that blood meal works. Can get at lowes and or Home depot. Also good for the soil.
