Best way to dispose of a washer and dryer?

Question:Moving into an apartment with a washer and dryer provided. What is the gbest way to get rid of my 3 year old washer and dryer quickly?

Answers:
I called up The Salvation Army and donated my old (non-working) washer to them once I purchased a new one. They came and picked it up from my doorstep. No hassles! :o)

I had informed them ahead of time that it wasn't working, and they were fine with that.

Donate it or put a "for sale" ad in Craigslist for your city.
Depending on where you live, put it out front of your house w/a for sale sign, put an advertisement in the paper or ask friends if they know of anyone who is looking for a cheap washer and dryer. If they are only 3 years old, and you ask a decent price, you will have no problem selling them.
run an ad in the paper or call goodwill industrys or salvation army
Put them out front with a "FREE" sign on them.
Advertise it as a one-day only sale at a ridiculously low price. It should be snapped up fast. If not, call your local Goodwill or Salvation Army and tell them to come and get it. Or your local church or mission might know of a needy family in need of a washer and dryer right away.
leave them with your old home.
Make sure you rattle the washer and dryer for lost coins- you would not believe how much money my appliances had eaten. When we shook them, the money came loose- about 15 dollars worth- lots of lost quarters were in those machines- but they were older machines too.
Take them to the Recycling place. They pay money for the metal!
