Should i get rid of snakes?
Question:
Answers:
No. They are good to have around. They feed on mice and
rats. They also kill any poison snakes that come around.
A poison snake will hold its ground whereas a none
poisonous snake will flee.
Yes.
They look really scary.
Risk of them getting out of the box.
Absolute waste of money to feed it, as it can survive on its own in the wild.
Where are your snakes? Out in your yard or garden? If so, unless you have good reason to believe that they're poisonous (and the odds are that they aren't), leave them be. They're an important link in the ecological balance. They may help control rodents that would be eating everything in sight if the snakes weren't around. If you don't like having the snakes around, make the habitat less hospitable--keep grass cut short; don't provide hiding places; keep flower beds free of weeds and thick growth. Neither the snakes or rodents will be especially happy and will likely move on to greener pastures.
