Master grocery list on a frugal budget- stocking up?
Question:Hi!
We just bought and moved into our first home. We have literally NO groceries in the house yet.
I want to assemble a "master grocery list"--- like a list of groceries and household products (laundry soap, dishwasher tabs, cleaning stuff, etc).
We have about $400 to spend on this first grocery shop in the new house.
Can you give me a list of foods, household goods, that shoul dbe on this first shopping list? We will also be going grocery shopping every 2 weeks, so I really want a list of staple foods. I am 38 weeks pregnant, so SOME convenience or quick cook foods would be great...
Also, any hints and tips on how to do groceries FRUGALLY, and household cleaners and the like FRUGALLY, I'd appreciate it... I start paying back studen loans this month, having the baby, first mortgage payment, line of credit payment... we're strapped for cash, so any help with this would be so appreciated!

It has a common grocery item list and I found it very useful for your situation. Just click on the item you need and it goes straight into your shopping list. Then you can either print it or access the shopping list with your cellphone.
oatmeal, flour, sugar, eggs, boxed soy milk, speghetti and sauce, tuna- most of all look for canned and boxed foods on sale, and if you have a freezer, you can freeze bread or what ever else you need that happens to be on sale.

If you have a Aldi's or Save*A*Lot discount food centers around you or the like where food and non edibles are less then half off everyday you can make out like bandits! For one person $400 stocks a household for a year!
Find one and go mad you'll still have money to spend.
