Help with crib buying!!?
Question:We have started shopping around, looking at cribs. It's driving me insane!! In your opinions, is a stationery, convertible crib, or a crib with a drop-gate better to have? We are purchasing all furniture ourselves, and I can't see spending $500+. We were looking at stationery, but decided against because I am tiny and didn't want to be struggling to get the baby out and I don't want baby to climb out! Now we have decided on a drop-gate. This is the one we are looking at:

a crib with a drop gate is better as the baby gets older u can put the gate up and it is convenent for u :)
Seems like you have already decided, but I would look into used furniture stores around your house, or in the newspaper. Since baby furniture is used for such a short period of time, buying it used is typically a great deal :)
I like that but I would like to make one suggestion. Try to find one that converts to a toddler bed. I bought a crib that has and extra rail. My son is exactly 2 and he has started climbing out of his bed. We just took off the outer rail and added the half rail - and now we have a toddler bed. It uses the standard crib mattress.
My mother told us to go to the store and shake the heck out of the crib and choose the one that was sturdiest. Drop gate is a must unless you want to break your back. Convertible - well, we opted against this. When the first was oldest to be in a toddler bed, the second was ready for the crib. Plus, buying the new bed for the toddler was a big deal for him, very special.
