Gas Boiler installed but did not receive my Corgi Certificate - do I need one?

Question:I had a reputable building company install a new bathroom with new heating system. I am now selling my house and this Corgi Declaration of Safety Cert is now being requested by the buyers solicitor. I have requested this certificate from the company that used a sub-contractor who I think was not Crogi Reg'd (!) to fit my boiler. I haven't had any joy from this company with my request for such a certificate and wondering if a post installation gas safety check will suffice (i.e. the CP12 Gas Safety Check certificate)?

Answers:
i would try again to get this, if you cant get it then i would just tell your solicitor because it doesnt mean that your house sale will fall its just that the buyer needs to be aware of the fact. you need docs for everything these days incl building regs for windows etc but again if you havent got them you havent got them but you can sell without.

yes you need one or it is illegal
Tell the buyers solicitor that you don't have a current certificate, but you are willing to have your boiler inspected if necessary.
yes of course you need one.find out here

every new boiler installed must be registered with corgi by a corgi engineer for the guarantee to be validated, i suggest you get back onto your builder and insist or if no joy get in touch with corgi yourself.
