How ofter do you have a big 'clear out'?
Question:
Answers:
I had a mother who invented "de-clutter".
She pre-deceased my Dad and when he died all I had of my family and ancestors were two death certificates and my father's passport.
All photo and Registration Certificates were destroyed methodically "Why do you need to keep a birth certificate (marriage certificate/death certificate) - you know when you were born (married/died)"
No family "heirlooms", nothing "that belonged to granny or Gt. granny", no books, no papers, no letters, no medals from my uncle's who died in the Great War. Everything was destroyed at the great altar of de-clutter.
When I die, my daughter can do the de-clutter bit - maybe, just maybe there will be something she will want to show her children and say "that was your Granny's when she was a little girl"
Every morning after my breakfast, regular as clockwork!
every month. oddly, part of my pms is the desperate need to throw stuff up, i will go through everything i own with a fine tooth comb the week before and take great pleasure in getting rid of stuff, cleaning out everything and putting back what remains. as a result i don't accumulate clutter.
its not me trying to be like this, it really is just like a strange craving!
I know they say 'Spring cleaning' but I do it every Winter.
It helps chase away the Winter time blues.
